Bowman Bay - Lighthouse point Trailblazer hike

17 of us enjoyed the views of Bowman bay today. We've hiked this trail before, you can read about that day's hike HERE.

I love trees and am always looking for a unique photo op. The Madrona's on Whidbey Island never disappoint.

We saw plenty of ducks, cormorants, seagulls and the quick bob of a seal's head in the water below.

I enjoyed taking some macro pictures of the early spring flowers. Tiny daisies, scotchbroom buds & reindeer moss.
Someone left a lovely heart made with rocks on a picnic table.

Rain or shine which would it be for today's hike, it seems to always be the question for us on Thursdays for our Senior Trailblazer hikes.
We began to feel the gentle raindrops on our heads, time to put on the rain gear.

We really didn't get too much rain and it was nearly done by the time we got back to the cars.
The ride home to Bellingham was another story, seems we picked a good place to hike today :-)

Endomondo stats:
Total distance hiked - 4.55 miles
minimum altitude - minus 43 feet
maximum altitude - 126 feet
total ascent -592 feet
total descent - 608 feet
