Hiking through Bellingham

We started hiking from Boulevard park, and continued on to Fairhaven park (the entrance arch is no longer there, it's been removed). From there we went through the 100 acre woods. It's such a lovely forest.

We walked a short way on the Interurban trail to the Clarita Moore trail. We went around that loop and made our way to and around Hoag's pond. We then went on the Connelly creek trail and on up to Sehome hill and through the Arboretum to the Tower. We walked the trail so we didn't walk through the tunnel, but I couldn't resist a photo opportunity. Thanks to my husband for taking the picture.

We then made our way through the WWU campus found the stairs off of the Laurel park area and made our way to the trail leading to Boulevard park. We were lucky? enough to get to wait for a train at the crossing right before we got to Boulevard park and the port a potty (just within sight). Actually we were lucky, for once it was a short train. So after a quick stop ;-) we arrived at our car that was parked at the park. What a fun day wondering around some of the trails and a few streets in Bellingham. I'm thankful we had a gap in the weather for our outing. We had awoken to rain and wind but by the time we left the house the weather had calmed and it was a pleasant fall day for a hike.
