Mon Oeuvre ~ On Ringo Lake Mystery Quilt progress 8

This week has been all about assembling.
I started on the top left corner and am working diagonally, since the blocks are on point. The row on the lower left isn't sewn on yet. My system is to sew each block individually, I then sew the sashing onto it. All of those sewn blocks will be sewn together to make that row. Then comes the tedious part for me, pinning and sewing that row to the upper section.
I need to really concentrate to get all of the sashing points going the correct direction, and to make sure I don't sew over the points in the seam. It's been a bit intense, but I'm slowly making progress.

We have an official graphic for "On Ringo Lake" mystery quilt now.

Raptor Ridge Meander

It was so nice to be outside on a hike again, after spending lots of time working out at the gym. We've had so many days of either really cold weather with ice or just plain awful rainy days, we haven't had many outdoor workout days.
Today the weather was forecast to be sunny, so we happily drove out to Chuckanut mountain to hike to Raptor Ridge.
We headed up the Hemlock trail and I spied a heart rock on the trail, love when that happens.

It felt so nice to sit on the rock at Raptor Ridge for lunch, the sun was nice and warm. We could see Mount Rainier in the distance, my camera didn't capture it through the haze.

After lunch we hiked towards the North Lost Lake trail and went to Madrone Crest. I love the little corridor trail that leads to the view point.

After looking out at Mount Baker from the view point (again my camera didn't capture it in the distance), we headed down the Salal trail. We did a stop at Chuckanut Falls before we ended our hike.

We're still in our Spartan race/Backpacking training, so we're looking for hikes that give us a good amount of elevation gain. Today was a good day.
Here's the relive video of our route -

Garmin stats:
Total miles hiked - 10.6 miles
Total ascent - 2231 feet
