January, February and March catch up!

What have I been doing since my last post???
Not so patiently waiting for my plantar fasciitis on my right foot to get better😢. It's been a long slow process, just about as long as it took for my left foot to feel better. Anywho, I've been out for walks and have gradually been working in some hikes with some elevation gain, so I'm much happier these days.

January brought us some cold weather, I enjoy getting out in it especially on bright sunny days.
We walked at Northern State recreation area.

Enjoyed a nice sunset on an icey evening near the Padilla shore trail.

Saw some Snow on the beach for our Goose Rock hike at Deception Pass

Enjoyed a short wander at Cornet bay.

In February we drove to the Baker lake area and continued all the way to the north trailhead, we enjoyed the river and tall trees along the trail. The perfect way to spend my last day of my sixties.

and just like that I woke up the next morning and I was 70😮
Our kids planned a nice day in British Columbia, complete with a beautiful cake made by our youngest son's fiancé.

March brought Daylight savings time, yay!!, Spring and hikes!!
I took my dog for a few walks. I finally learned how to walk her without feeling like she's going to dart off and drag me off my feet. She is rambunctious and strong. I now can have somewhat enjoyable walks alone with her😂. One of my favorite walks with her was at the Bp public access. Apparently I'm not the only one that enjoyed the daffodils.

We hiked from Bowman Bay to the big Cedar and on to the Tursi trail, my first hike with an elevation gain of more than 1000 feet in some time!

On the Vernal Equinox we hiked from Heart Lake to the Lake Erie overlook.

We got a late start for our hike, but we made it back to the car before dark!
A great way to welcome in Spring.

Today we hiked to Lily lake from the Samish overlook and returned via Max's shortcut and the Larry Reed trail. We lucked out and had a beautiful day before we were done. Another 1000+ feet elevation hike!

We did more than this since December, but that was a quick catch up!

I've decided to embrace my 70's with the phrase:
"Sententiously in my Seventies"
The definition of Sententiously:
Trying to appear wise, intelligent, and important, in a way that is annoying.
I feel like I'm off to a great start!
