Mt. Baker snow day
I had my first chemo infusion on March 31st. I figured out that it's all about learning how to manage the side effects. After the first week the days get better. I am trying to keep my walking up especially on the infusion week. My oncologist told me that the more active I am the better I'll get through chemo, so that's the plan. I was able to walk that first week more than I thought I would so that has been nice. Now that my surgeries are healing I even got in a walk/run.
With the good weather forecast for this whole week we headed up to Mt. Baker last Tuesday to check out the snow. We're hoping to get up there and snow shoe sometime this spring, so thought it would be good to see how high the snow is now.
We sat in the car and enjoyed the view while we ate our lunch and then we walked around the loop of the road that goes down towards the Firs Chalet and then back up to the lot we're parked in.
My husband took the photos this day. He got a photo of me in the Van while I was eating.
Heading down the road for our walk.
The icicles that hung over the snow banks were beautiful.
Loved the distant mountain views
So the plan is to: manage symptoms, get out and enjoy each day, be as active as my body allows and repeat every 3 weeks until my treatments are over.
