This is it, the day I've been preparing for.
The Montana Spartan Sprint race is Sunday, my first Spartan race ever.
Yikes!
I've been training hard for it since I signed up in March.
One of the many things I like about endomondo is that they send out a summarized report of my recent activities,
and in detail.
If you click on the photo below you will see every workout I've done since I signed up in the beginning of March & that each activity is color coded.
This period of training has seemed very focused for me. I've done road races before, so I was familiar with training for a long run, but I've never done an event that took overall body strength, so I had to train my whole body. I'm pleased to say that my weak upper body has gotten stronger. I knew my aerobic fitness level was pretty good since I run and hike regularly. and that this would give me a good base to begin this effort.
Spartan is a big company, with many races. Their goal is to get everyone off of the couch - up and active. They also are a large community of supportive individuals that go out of their way to help everyone get through a race. I've enjoyed their motivation and inspiration in each of the WOD (workout of the day) emails I've received everyday.
The Spartan "attitude" is very addicting and has helped me to feel that I am capable of doing anything I set my sights on.
I was very focused and disciplined in my training but now that it's here and I'm ready, it's time for a little fun!
I got my hair ready for the day too.
To every person competing in Bigfork, Montana this weekend I send out a loud
"AROO".
Montana Sprint, I'm ready to take on your hills and obstacles.
Here I come!
